Unit 1 Where I live

本单元的安排主要是为了培养学生学习英语的兴趣,以口语交际为主,学习的句子也是和生活相接近,如请别人打扫课桌和地面,以及如何询问“住处”等知识。
一、Let’s act(第一课时)
Language focus:
Using imperatives to give simple instructions:
Eg. Sweep the floor , please .
Using the definite article to refer to specific classroom objects:
Eg. Clean the desk , please .
Language skills:
Listening:
Locate specific information in respond to simple instructions.
Speaking:
Using modelled phrases to communicate with other learners.
Materials:

Pre-task : prepration
1. Point to a desk and say
T: What’s this ?
S: It is a rubber .
T: What’s this ?
S: It is a desk .
鼓励学生指着他们自己的课桌说desk
2. Gesture with my arm to indicate the classroom and say
T: This is a classroom .We are in the classroom now.(反复慢说classroom ,并鼓励学生跟读。)
3. T: Our classroom is nice . We must help to keep it clean .
(对英语教学的同时还要进行适当的素质教育)
While-task procedure
1. T: Clean the desk.(边说边用抹布擦课桌)
2. Invite a more able student to come to the front . Give the rag to him/her and say ‘Clean the desk, please.’ The student performs the action and repeat your command.
3. Invite more students to come to the front .Let the more able student give the command and others do the action .(每小组的学生进行反复)
4. Clean the classroom by sweeping the floor .Invite another more able student to come up and say the command ‘Sweep the floor ,please.’ The student performs the action. Repeat Step 3.
5. Open Student’s Book to page2. Play the cassette tape . Let the students listen to the instructions ‘Clean the desk ,please .’ Ask students to repeat and mime the actions .
6. Invite individual students to act out the scene.
Post-task activities
1. Play a game (先分小组活动,一学生发令,其他学生做动作)
2. 再让学生成对进行表演. Students vote for the best .

Using the simple present tense to express interests and preferences

. A picture of Shanghai , a stamped envelope ,a toy bear

Pre-task preparation
T : Ask the students Where do you live ?(如能回答就加以表扬)
S : I live in Jingjiang .(如不能则自问自答)
T : Do you know Where is it ?(出示有关上海的图片)
S : Shanghai .
T : I live in …
S : Shanghai .
T : Who can ?(鼓励学生大胆地讲出来)
S : I live in Shanghai .
While-task procedure
1. Put up the wallchart for page 3. Tell a story something like this :(由学生自己看图说话,展开他们丰富的想象力)
2. Ask question such as the following:
. Where does Sam live /
. Where do you live?
. Does Sam love Shanghai?
. Do you love Shanghai ?
. What is this? ( Pointing to a bin and a building respectively.)
3. Open the Student’s Book to page 3 . Play the cassette tape to let students hear the correct pronunciation of the words and sentences . Then ask individuai students to say ‘ I live in Shanghai .’ and ‘ I love Shanghai .’
Post-task activities
1. Give each student a sheet of white drawing paper . Ask them to draw a picture of the place they live in .
2. Ask students to say something about their pictures by using the sentences ‘ I live in …, I love …’
Consolidation
Workbook page 2:
a. Look , listen and tick the correct sentence
b. Listen and draw.
