Step 1 Review maid task “how to write a recommendation”
Questions about David: Why did they recommend David? Can you tell me more about him?
  (1) Is David afraid of speaking in public?
  (2) What does he often do for the class?
  (3) What did he do last summer?
  (4) Does he do well in English?
  (5) He is a helpful student, isn’t he?
  (6) Does he often forget to do the things he needs to do?
  (7) Which club has he joined this year?
  (8) Do you think David is the most suitable person to be the new chairperson?
  (9) What characteristics does he have?
  (10) Can you guess what star sign he is?
Step 2 Review star signs
1.How many star signs are there? What are they? Show the students the star signs and let
them name them. (What is the star sign?)
2.We have learnt a lot about star signs. Different star signs have different characteristics.
Could you tell me what your star sign is and what your characteristics are?
Step3 Review adjectives and opposites
1.What does your star sign say about you?
2.Do you know the opposite of these words?
3.Finish Part B on page 23 and check the answers.
Step4 Review Grammar A
1. Do star signs say that you can be a chairperson or a monitor?
Are you confident enough to take the job?
Are you brave enough to speak in front of many people?
-- Show the sentences: (进行句型转换)
You are confident enough to take this job. =
You are brave enough to speak in front of many people. =
2. Do more exercises to practice “It’s + adj. + of + sb. + to do sth”.;“adj. + enough to do sth.”
(1)A word game:
Look at the following pictures, find the most suitable adjectives, and make sentences with these two structures to describe them.
 1. It’s+ adj+of+sb.+to do sth.   2. Sb.+ be + adj+ enough + to do sth.
(2) Rewrite the sentences
3.David has been chosen as the new chairperson of the Students’ Union. He is thanking Millie and Kitty for recommending him.
4. Finish their conversation “Part A on Page 23”and check the answers; and then the students practice the dialogue in pairs.
Step 4 Review Grammar B
1.The star signs may say that you can be a chairperson or a monitor. But
Do star signs tell you what will happen to you next month?
(The star sign says that those born in the year of Goat … )
2.Show some sentences and ask students to tell different parts of the sentence.
3.Do more exercises to practice it.
Step 5 After-class activities –A Guessing Game
Rules:
1. Four students a group, each student tries to use as many adjectives as possible to describe one of them.
2. Other students try to guess who he/ she is describing.
3. And then choose one of each group to report in front of the class, let the whole class guess who he/she is describing.
Step 6  Homework
  1. Please do the Guessing Game after class
  2. Please write a letter to recommend other student as the new monitor.
  3. Please review the whole unit and finish the given exercises.
