教学目标：
1、Learn new words “special, hear, nearly, together”.
2、Master the sentence pattern “Can you tell me about American festivals?” and “Thanksgiving is my favourite festival. ” Let them ask and answer.
3、Enable to describe the customs of Thanksgiving and other festivals. Let the students know that they should say “Thank you” to those people who helps them.

1.Bring up a question, then ask and answer.
2.Describe their favourite festival.
教学过程：
一、Warming-up
1.Greating

Talking about the Halloween by looking at some pictures with P.P.T. .
二、Presentation 
T: Today I’ll show you another festival. It is very important in America.(on the board) First , let’s listen to a music and guess “What’s this festival?”
Then let the students answer –Thanksgiving.
Then tell the students why do  people celebrate it.

1.Show the students some questions . Then let the students think about these questions are true  or false after they listen to tape. 
2. Ask the students to open the books, then find out the four questions.
a)Can you tell me about American festivals?
b)When is it ?
c)What happens?
Ask them to find the answers .And I write these sentences on the board.
Then summary these sentences are talking about Thanksgiving and ask the students to read together.
d) Do you want to hear the poem?—learn the new word “hear”. Then make the corporation with “hear” and “listen”. 
3.Show them the poem .Then learn –“nearly”
First , ask the students to complete these questions with “nearly” and “near”.
Then, read the poem.
Then, show them some question-----Who wrote the poem?   
Then, lead the students to say Thanksgiving is  ________ ‘s  ________ festival. 
4.Listen and repeat the text.
5.Ask somebody. to read.
