过去进行时：1. 过去进行时的构成及用法：
过去进行时由“助动词was/ were +v.-ing”构成，表示在过去某一时刻或某一时间段正在进行的动作。这一特定的过去时间除有上下文暗示以外，一般用时间状语来表示，如：then, at that time, at this time yesterday, at 8:00 yesterday morning, all night以及when/ while从句等。
Eg: I was reading a book in the library at that time.那时我正在图书馆里看书。
They were having an English class at 9:00 yesterday morning.昨天上午9点钟他们在上英语课。
He was reading a story book when the teacher came in.老师进来的时候，他正在看故事书。
2. 过去进行时的基本句式：
（1）肯定句：主语 +was/ were +v.-ing +其他. Eg: I was sleeping at ten o’clock last night. 昨晚10点我在睡觉。（2）否定句：主语 +wasn’t/ weren’t +v.-ing +其他. Eg: I wasn’t sleeping at ten o’clock last night. 昨晚10点我没在睡觉。（3）疑问句：Was/ Were +主语 +v.-ing +其他？ —Were you sleeping at ten o’clock last night?—Yes, I was./ No, I wasn’t. 昨晚10点你在睡觉吗？是的，我在睡觉。/不，我没在睡觉。
