Tom and Charlie were from America. The two young men took great interest in travelling, especially sailing. One summer they were on holiday. They wanted to sail around the Caribbean Sea (加勒比海)their ship for two weeks .
During their trip, Tony and Charlie saw many whales. They were very excited. But unfortunately, when they were watching, the whales began to hit the side of the ship.
Suddenly, the water started coming in, and they realized that they were in trouble. They quickly jumped into the lifeboat before the ship sank, and watched it disappear under the sea.
Luckily, they had enough food and water for about twenty days. They also had a fishing line and a machine which could change seawater into drinking water. These two things helped them survive during their terrible trip.
For the next fifty days, they caught about ten fish a day and ate them. They saw about twenty ships. Though they waved and shouted when the ships went passing, nobody saw them. They were becoming weaker and weaker. Then, just as they were beginning to lose hope, a fishing boat saved them.
