三、语法复习
一般过去时的用法：
a. 表示过去的动作或状态，常和明确的过去时间状语连用，如：yesterday, last week, three days ago, in 1998等，或与由when引导的从句。
eg. I _______(see)him yesterday.
She _______(buy)the bike two years ago.
He _______(be)here just now.
Where _______ you ______ (live)when you were young?
b. 也可以表示过去某一段时间内经常或反复出现的动作。句子中常带有every day, often, usually, always, sometimes 等时间状语。
如：When I studied in the university, I ________(read) aloud every morning.
I usually ______(go) touring during my summer vocations.
在过去的几年里，每逢暑假我总是出去旅游。
c. 也可以用“used to +动词原形”表示过去经常或反复的动作。
如：We used to get up early. 我以前总是早起。（意指现在不早起了）
d. 动词过去式的变化规则如下：
（1） 一般的谓语动词后面直接加-ed 如：ask-asked
（2）以不发音的e结尾的动词，直接加-d 如：arrive-arrived
（3）以辅音字母加y 结尾的动词，变y为i 再加-ed, 如；study –studied
（4）以一个辅音字母结尾的重读闭音节动词，双写最后一个辅音字母，在加-ed, 如：
chat-chatted

The amazing world
The world is full of amazing things.
Fish sleep with their eyes open . Our eyes are the same size from birth . The giraffe has a long neck but there are only seven bones in it. The camel can live without water for a long time. The snake eats little or nothing for months in cold winter. The ant is small but it smells well. Some small monkeys are only ten centimeters tall. Some people can write with one hand and draw with the other hand at the same time.
