The First World War postcard has finally been sent after many years. It is a very old postcard This postcard was from a 19-yearold solider, Alfred, during the First World War. He wrote this postcard and sent it to his lovely sister Nell in January 1916. The postcard is dated 1916 and there is a cartoon picture of a new soldier on the front.
Alfred has written to his sister, 'Dear Nell, just a postcard to let you know I have not forgotten you. On the other side you will see our orders for next week. I will need your pity. Write to me, your brother Alfred.' Sadly, Alfred was killed in a flight in 1918 before the card arrived. Years later, his sister died in 1964.

Tug-of-war(拔河) is not only popular in China, but in many other countries. Their tug-of-war match is a little different from ours. They have eight men for each team, while we may have the match between two sides with equal men or women players. Of course, they are usually tall, strong and heavy.
For a tug-of-war match, we need a long thick rope. Each team stands at one end of the rope, holding it.
