Step 1, Free talk
Ask Ss to talk about books they have read.
A: Have you read…?
B: Yes, I have.
A: what’s it about?
B: It’s about….
A: what do you think of it ?

Step 2, pre-reading
1. T: Have your read Robinson Crusoe? How much do you know about this story?
Ss tell the class if they know.
2. Watch the picture .Tell Ss a story and teach the new words.
This standing man is called Robinson Crusoe. He is on an island . He lives with tools and uses guns to protect himself. The other man was saved by Robinson from cannibals. What happened to them ? Let’s read.
Step3, While- reading
1. Let Ss read quickly and answer the two questions:
1) What does Robinson Crusoe wait for ?
2)Why does Robinson call the man Friday?
2. Check the answers , let them read again and find words that have these meanings.
